Casellet iPhone Case – Leave your wallet behind…
We’ve definitely seen an influx of Wallet/Phone case hybrids over the last few months. What’s been interesting is to see each company’s different execution of the same general idea. Construction
The Casellet is made up of three different materials. The majority is a smooth black plastic. On the outside rear there is a brushed aluminum panel (with a subtly engraved ‘Casellet’ logo) which ads a nice visual touch, and on the inside, there’s a black felt lining. The back of the case is on a hinge, and opens up to reveal the inner wallet compartment. To release the back, there is a depressible plastic tab.

As A Wallet…
When compared to other wallet cases such as the CM4 (click here for the CM4 review), the Casellet is very roomy and secure. That said, the roominess does come with the cost of added bulk. Bulkiness aside, we were able to fit a whopping four credit cards, a drivers license, and a $20 bill in the compartment with ease. If you wanted, you could push the limits and fit even more. Not only that, but you’ve also got a little room to stash other things of your choice in the case. The cards are held in place by a series of ledges inside the case (which you can see by clicking the below picture).

Underneath the iPhone is a thin layer of felt-like material that provides a soft resting place for your device. It doesn’t really provide much cushion, but it will prevent scratching on the rear glass panel of the phone. All cutouts allowed for unhindered access to all the phone’s physical controls and buttons.

Things to Consider
The Casellet is by no means a ‘slim profile’ case. It basically doubles the thickness of your iPhone, and adds quite a bit of bulk. This is the obvious trade-off for the extra storage, and something to take in to account. Also, being that it is so thick, there is some camera flash glare when taking pictures with the flash on. Bear in mind, it wasn’t severe. While it was noticeable, we found the level of glare to be acceptable.

Our Review in Summary
The Casellet should definitely be a contender in your search for the best wallet/iPhone case combo. Really, it comes down to personal preference. Do you put extra storage space and security over sleek size? If so, this could be the perfect case to simplify your life, and allow you to finally leave your wallet at home. We didn’t find any design flaws, or things that really concerned us with this case, and ultimately, it’s a matter of taste. Overall, the Casellet is a strong option, and one you should definitely consider picking up.
